1. Who We Are
Sparky AI is an AI-powered NEC code reference tool built for licensed electricians and electrical professionals. The app is operated by Michael Briglio / Imperium Power Systems.

2. What We Collect
Information you provide
- Email address (for account creation via Apple Sign In or Google)
- Questions you ask the AI assistant
Information collected automatically
- Modules viewed and search queries (usage analytics)
- Session data — app open/close timestamps, session duration
- Subscription status and transaction data (managed by Apple/Google and RevenueCat)
- Push notification tokens (if you grant notification permission)
- Device type, OS version, and app version for crash reporting
What we do NOT collect
- Location data — we do not request or store your location
- Contacts — we do not access your contact list
- Camera or microphone — Sparky AI does not use your camera or mic
- Financial data — payment processing is handled entirely by Apple or Google
3. How We Use Your Data
- To provide AI responses to your code questions
- To sync your saved modules and recent history across devices
- To manage your subscription and trial status
- To send push notifications you've opted into (usage tips, code updates)
- To improve app performance and content quality
- To detect and fix bugs and crashes
We do not sell your data. We do not use your data for advertising. We do not share your data with third parties except as described in Section 4.
4. Third-Party Services
Powers the AI chat assistant. Your questions are sent to Anthropic's API to generate responses. Anthropic's privacy policy applies to data processed by their models.
Manages subscription state across iOS and Android. Receives subscription event data from Apple and Google. RevenueCat does not receive your AI questions or browsing history.
Powers push notification delivery. Push tokens are stored to route notifications to your device.
Hosts the web version (PWA) and API proxy. Server-side request logs are subject to Vercel's data retention policies.
Manage app distribution and in-app purchases. Purchases are subject to Apple's and Google's privacy policies respectively.
5. Data Storage & Security
Most user data is stored locally on your device via AsyncStorage (encrypted by your device OS). AI chat history (last 50 messages) and saved/recent modules are stored on-device.
Server-side, we store only what is necessary for subscription management and push notification delivery. We use HTTPS for all data in transit. We do not operate our own database of user accounts — authentication is handled through Apple or Google.
6. Data Retention
- On-device data (chat history, saved modules) — retained until you delete the app or clear app data
- Subscription data — retained by RevenueCat per their policies
- Push tokens — deleted within 30 days of subscription cancellation
- Server logs — retained for up to 90 days for debugging purposes
7. Your Rights
You have the right to:
- Access — request a copy of data we hold about you
- Deletion — request deletion of your account and associated data
- Opt out of notifications — disable at any time in your device settings
- Portability — request an export of your data in a machine-readable format

8. California Residents (CCPA)
If you are a California resident, you have the right to know what personal information we collect, the right to delete it, and the right to opt out of its sale. We do not sell personal information. For CCPA requests, contact asksparkyai@gmail.com.
9. Children
Sparky AI is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we become aware that a child under 13 has provided personal information, we will delete it immediately.
10. Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the "Last Updated" date at the top of this page. Continued use of Sparky AI after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy. For material changes, we will notify you via the app or email.
